Purchasing a used RV in Ft. Worth/Dallas? Get an Independent Pre-Buy Inspection done! in Lincoln, Nebraska For Sale

Don't get stuck taking your new or used motorhome off of the dealer's lot and -then- discovering expensive repairs that will come out of -your- pocket instead of theirs! 'PDI's' or 'Pre-Delivery Inspections' are a cost effective way to protect yourself from repair bills right after you purchase your New or Used RV. Alternatively, if you are selling an RV, this is a good selling point to be able to show prospective buyers the current status of your rig.
I perform PDI inspections on RV's from Diesel Pusher Motorhomes to slide-in campers and travel trailers. I am one man with a lot of rv experience, a clipboard, and an eye for errors!
Independent, I work for -YOU-, with 11 years experience in the RV industry, having worked for small independent shops, mid-size dealers, and even the largest single location motorhome dealer in the country, including having owned two RV repair and service shops myself for several years. I've worked in all aspects of the service side of the rv industry, and I've done repairs small and large, up to major impact damage insurance claims and rebuilds.
My 250 point checklist allows me to identify current or potential problems in great detail on Class A or C motorhomes, 5th wheels, travel trailers, Class B vans, and pop-ups.
What you receive is a line by line list of items that have a problem and an estimate of typical times to repair them, a list of parts necessary for the repairs including average retail pricing and sources for those parts, a total of the parts and labor necessary for the repairs found during the inspection, and a CD with pictures of the pertinent items.
Performing this inspection can take 4 to 6 hours. I need a city water connection and a city power connection to test the plumbing and power, and the propane tanks need to be partially filled. The fuel tank, if it is a motorhome, needs to be at least at 3/8ths of a tank.
My inspection covers house and chassis oriented components including an exterior inspection, chassis and generator inspection, electrical 12v and 120VAC systems inspection, interior and exterior lights, dash controls for motorhomes, plumbing systems, propane systems, heating and cooling systems including dash air for motorhomes, appliances, electronics including satellite systems, and interior furnishings. I check components, accessories, and appliances for function, and I look for visible damage inside and out, in addition to checking the walls and ceiling for internal rot or other damage.
I can do the inspection at the seller's location, or at the dealer that is selling you the vehicle. Most dealers that are still in business these days are reputable, and shouldn't mind you having an independent inspection on the RV. Most dealers would rather cover the repairs and have a happy customer, as opposed to an unhappy customer later. However, if a dealer will not allow an independent (as opposed to someone they recommend) rv inspector to check out the rig, or try to impede them in any way, then that dealer is probably someone you wouldn't want to do business with anyway.
My fee for this service is $220 to $320 depending on the size of the rig, serving Johnson County, south Tarrant County, Hood County, Erath County, and Somervell County. Other areas may incur a fuel surcharge.
Every shop I've worked at over the years, including when I owned my own two shops, had average repair tickets of over $500. When I've worked at dealerships, I've found that even new RV's have issues. On used RV trailers and motorhomes, even if only a year or two old, I usually found between 20 and 40 items for repair.
